Now, here’s something both kids AND adults can agree on!

Bear Bottom Resorts, home to Missouri’s number 1 and number 2 longest open flume body waterslides, has a special every Thursday that kids and adults can enjoy.

Every Thursday, it’s only $5.00 after 5pm for armbands, along with 30 cent wings and dollar drafts from 6pm until 8pm.

That means kids (and adults who are still kids at heart) can slip, slide, and get soaked!

And for the adults who want to stay dry, enjoy deliciously decadent wing and ice-cold dollar drafts to cool off from the summer heat.

The waterslides are open from 10am until 11pm, daily.

Bear Bottom Resort is in Sunrise Beach,  located at Mile Marker 38 of the Osage Arm.

Recipe: Make Your Own Moonshine This Fall!

Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Starbucks are all the rage this time of year.

However, if you’re looking for something a little more boozy. Oh, who are we kidding?! We’re talkin’ A LOT more boozy…then this Apple Pie “Moonshine” from A Taste of Meghan’s Kitchen might be just the ticket!

Word of caution: This drink can sneak up on you if you’re not careful. Wait until a very crisp, cold night to try this drink.

If you give it a go, be sure to snap a photo while you’re making it OR drinking it and post it on our Facebook page. Just another way to celebrate fall! 🙂 Enjoy!

Ingredients:

1 Gallon Apple Cider
1 Gallon Apple Juice
3 Cups Sugar
8 Cinnamon Sticks
1 Liter Bottle 190 Proof Everclear, Moonshine or other Grain Alcohol

Directions:

In an extremely large stock pot, combine the apple cider, apple juice, sugar and the cinnamon

sticks. Bring the mixture to a boil and then remove the pot from the heat and allow it to cool.

Once the mixture has cooled add in the liter of alcohol and stir.

Pour (or ladle) the mixture into mason jars. (You can either throw away the cinnamon sticks or

add them to a few of the jars as you are bottling them if you desire.) You can drink the mixture

immediately; however, it does get better after it has sat for a couple of weeks.

This will make approximately 9 quarts of Apple Pie “Moonshine”.

Dinner and an Unforgettable View of the Lake of the Ozarks

Are you craving Mexican food and an unforgettable view?

Sunrise Cantina, located in Osage Beach, is one of the best places to go to get a panoramic view of the lake.

Here’s a recent review from one customer:

This restaurant building has been around for as long as I remember, but I have to say that Sunrise Cantina is the best restaurant that has occupied this space. It has a great view of the lake from high above on the cliff and service is great, along with the food. – Gabi, Kansas City

Open for lunch and dinner, this lakeside cantina offers an abundant menu, from classic burritos to lobster and shrimp tacos for those with a more adventurous palate. They also have a full-serviced bar, with a Happy Hour from 3-6pm, Tuesday through Friday.

Sunrise Cantina is located at 264 Sunset Hill Drive in Sunrise Beach, Missouri.

A Summer Cocktail Must-Try: Gin Quigley

What’s summer without an ice-cold cocktail?!

This is one of my favorites — it’s so easy and you only need one!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  1. Gin of your choosing
  2. Grapefruit juice
  3. Tonic water

Equal parts of each and mix together. It has quite the kick, but it doesn’t get any more refreshing than this.
