Inside Look: La Casa de la Bella Vita

This beautiful 5,300+ sq ft brand new, one of a kind, custom built home features the best of the best at the Lake of the Ozarks. It is fully furnished and especially designed to capture the view of the lake from almost every room in the house. The exquisite open floor plan is perfect for formal entertaining or just enjoying lazier time with friends and family. And the name, La Casa De La Buona Vita means “The House of the Good Life.”

The main floor provides guests with an expansive vaulted open living area, complete with leather seating , tiled gas fireplace and is an ideal place to enjoy the flat screen TV. Just behind the living area is the large dining table with enough seating for 8. And every gourmet cook will love the kitchen with granite counter tops, and stainless steel appliances, custom cabinets and breakfast bar with additional seating for 4. Just to the left of the kitchen is a large laundry room with a stackable washer and dryer and access to the three car garage. Private lake-front cabin resides on an open cove.

This redecorated private lake-front cabin resides on an open cove (1-mile marker of the Gravois Arm) and is a favorite for many of our family vacationers. The property includes several shade trees, a natural sand beach, and a private dock.

The open floor plan includes the living room with sofa sleeper (full size), dining area, kitchen, and full bath with a shower tub. Sleeping quarters contains four beds (two full and two twin) and accesses an outside covered porch and swing. This private family home comfortably sleeps 6-8. Learn more…

We enjoyed every minute of our stay here at the Jewell. The cabin was clean and well furnished when we arrived. My favorite thing to do was to get comfortable on the porch swing with a root beer float, the Lake Sun Leader (great local newspaper) and our 2 dogs at my side – just watching the world go by … One week wasn’t long enough. “A perfect spot for a quiet, relaxing weekend getaway.” My wife and I had a perfectly wonderful time at the “Jewell” cabin. Everything about the place was exactly what we were looking for. An Inside Look: Emerald Retreat

This is an amazing 3 story family oriented property has lots of room for everyone and is within the highly desirable Buck Creek Cove. You’ll feel right at home as the house is decorated in a very comfortable fashion. The home boasts 5 spacious bedrooms, 3 baths, 2 separate living spaces, a fireplace, flat screen TVs, pool table, game room, stereo, Internet, an entertaining kitchen with a great breakfast bar, lakefront sun room, shaded patio, dock with two open slips, PWC slips, patio furniture and beautiful landscaping.

From the garage parking you’ll enter the home on the second level. This level has two bedrooms and one shared shower bath off the hallway. The largest bedroom is spacious with a king size bed that overlooks the Lake. The second bedroom is nicely furnished with a full size bed. These two bedrooms share a hall bath with a shower tub.

Upstairs is where all your friends and family will hang out – in the enormous family room and game room with its treetop view of the Lake. Everyone will enjoy the pool table, game table for four or just watching your favorite programs of movies from the family room with plenty of comfortable seating for all. Lake of the Ozarks Business Spotlight: Playin’ Hooky Water Taxi & Charters

One of the great things about the Lake of the Ozarks has to be the fantastic small businesses, ranging from restaurants to lake tours and everything in between.  We are going to be interviewing owners of businesses to give you a better sense of what the lake is all about.  Our first interview is with Jim Bascue, USCG Licensed Master Captain and owner of Playin’ Hooky Water Taxi & Charters.

Q: Introduce yourself — How did Playin Hooky Water Taxi & Charters come about?

A: Wherever a person calls home, going on vacation usually means traveling several hours away to a destination that they don’t often get to visit. When considering what I wanted to do when I retired, I would dream of running my own business on the water in one of the many places I had vacationed. Being born and raised in Missouri, after retiring I realized that what I had dreamed about was in my backyard.

Being on the water is a peaceful & relaxing way to spend time with family and friends. Often when I would be out and see young families without a boat, I would think to my self they don’t realize what they are missing. Taking time out to get away and visit the lake is great, but when you get out on the water you see it from a totally different view. Just watch a child’s face when they get to ride in a boat.

One day during dinner my wife and I were talking and realized that there was a real need for a service that allowed people coming to the lake to get out on the water. Whether it be a group looking for a night of entertainment, a couple wanting to go on a romantic ride across the lake for dinner or a family wanting to take their kids for a ride, a Water Taxi was the answer!

Since starting last summer we have received a warm welcome from the community and the property owners in the area. We have had numerous people contact us that own or rent property at the lake who are excited that now they can safely get out on the water to go to their favorite restaurants and entertainment across the lake.

 

Q: If you had to recommend one package/tour you offer for a family, what would it be? What would you recommend for a couple?

A: For a family or a couple, you don’t have to spend a lot of money. Just remember you’re at the lake, relax and spend time together. Chose a destination, there is great food and entertainment all around the lake. Enjoy a worry free boat ride getting there, then relax and enjoy.

 

Q: What is your favorite event that goes on during the summer at the Ozarks?

A: I’m not sure that I could pick one thing. There is so much going on at the lake every summer. No matter what your age, or your interest there is something for everyone here.

 

Q: What do you love most about summer at the Lake of the Ozarks?

A: The people, whether your talking about waiters/waitresses, entertainers, shop owners, or visitors coming to the lake, everyone is always happy, considerate and in a great mood.

 

Q: Anything else you’d like to add?

A: Coming this summer we are excited and proud to announce that we are purchasing a 40’ passenger boat that after USCG inspection should carry around 35 passengers. We hope to have it in service by May 1st. To our knowledge this will be the first time that there has been a passenger boat at the lake of this size. Using this boat will enable us to run a scheduled route where guests will be able to hop on and hop off where they like, as well as carry large groups for charters.
